Cedar Valley APICS PDM: “Discover & Own Your Strengths”

How often do you find yourself positively anticipating your work day? How often do you become so involved in what you are doing at work that you lose track of time? How often do you get to do things you really love to do at work?

Too many of us answer “not often” or “rarely” when asked these questions. But, it doesn’t have to be this way. There are actions you can take right now that will chart a new path that leads to more enjoyment and fulfillment with your work. And you don’t have to change jobs to experience this new path. The answer lies with your unique strengths - those natural talents you probably haven’t spent enough time putting to work every day.

If you’re like most people, you have likely devoted more development time throughout your career to your areas of weakness than your strengths. And this pattern probably started long before you had a career. This session will identify and dispel the myths of strengths and teach you techniques for maximizing impact and growing in your areas of strength, right from where you are today!

Ms. Pelland will be presenting at Cedar Valley APICS PDM on Tuesday, January 8th, at Longbranch Hotel and Convention Center.

Jackie Pelland is the strategic mastermind of leadership development at Rockwell Collins. She designs leadership and performance programs that set corporate culture on its ear. At Rockwell Collins, she is a frequent speaker at leadership conferences and stars in her own video series of tiny leadership lessons called "Jack Chat." Most recently, she co-led a successful effort to transform the employee-manager relationship at Rockwell Collins by replacing the company’s traditional performance ratings and reviews with an approach of frequent, quality conversations.
